The new album «Leviathan» by Otto Dix is coming out this autumn, being their ninth full-length release. The band will then set off on tour across three countries – Germany, Switzerland and Russia – to present the new programme as well as perform the most popular hits. The tour will culminate in two big concerts in January 2018 in St. Petersburg and Moscow.
As the name of the release suggests, the theme of the album is the inner and outer Ocean, the inner and outer Cosmos. It is not only the Demon, it is the inner demons of every human – his passions, his joys and sorrows, his depressions and manias, his divine light and his animal nature.
The album «Leviathan» is already available for pre-order through the website muzicona.com along with tickets to Otto Dix concerts. Another pleasant surprise for fans and listeners of the new album will be Igor Pokatilov’s rhythm guitar and Peter Voronov’s captivating violin.
"Leviathan" - New Album by Otto Dix on Kickstarter
Otto Dix are getting ready to record their 9th full-length album “Leviathan” and have started a crowdfunding campaign to help fund the production costs. The audiably and visually delicious rewards for backers include signed copies of the album, exclusively designed T-Shirts and original A2 pencil drawings by the band’s composer Marie Slip.
“Leviathan” is to be released on the 1st of August 2017. It will contain 11 songs, 2 of which are already finalised and the rest are drafted. The vocalist Michael Draw describes the idea of Leviathan as the inner and outer Ocean, the inner and outer Cosmos, the demons of every human being. According to Marie Slip, the new album will consist of 100% electronic sound with a minimum of lyrical songs.
Otto Dix is the perfect example of a band which managed to evolve from an obscure underground level to countrywide popularity in just a few years of being on stage while remaining unique and independent. Formed in 2004, Otto Dix initially positioned themselves as a darkwave band, but soon went beyond the tight framework of the genre to become what can be best described as “electronic avant-garde”. The rare voice of the vocalist Michael Draw (contra-tenor – the highest of male voices) and the band’s distinct style make Otto Dix a truly unique phenomenon.
OTTO DIX band members and management would like to thank the organisers of the VI Russian International Horror Film Awards «KAPLYA» and personally the President of the Festival Viktor Bulankin for the invitation to participate in the awarding ceremony and to present the band’s newest music video «Clay».
The band OTTO DIX is open to collaboration with film directors and producers. We are waiting for your offers and proposals by email firstname.lastname@example.org
Thank you for being with us!
From Goth to Avant-garde
Otto Dix is the perfect example of a band which managed to evolve from an obscure underground level to countrywide popularity in just a few years of being on stage while remaining unique and independent. Otto Dix initially positioned themselves as a darkwave band, but soon went beyond the tight framework of the genre to become what can be best described as “electronic avant-garde”, attracting a very diverse audience: teenagers and middle-aged people, goths and admirers of academical music. The rare voice of the vocalist Michael Draw (contra-tenor – the highest of male voices) and the band’s distinct style that remains recognisable despite the constant experiments of the composer Marie Slip make Otto Dix a truly unique phenomenon. The band has a very strong visual aspect to their live shows: special effects such as laser installations are used, vivid and conceptual costumes are created for each album, little pantomimes are performed by the vocalist to accompany every song. Another singular feature of the band is that all of their lyrics are in Russian.
Otto Dix regularly tours the ex-USSR countries and Europe. In December 2014 the band celebrated its 10-year anniversary with concerts in Germany, Switzerland, Austria and Czech Republic as part of the Dark Circus Tour. In May 2015 the band performed for the second time at the famous “Wave-Gotik-Treffen” festival in Leipzig. According to media, Otto Dix is the number one Goth band in Russia.
